My boyfriend and I had horrible customer service at the Genealogy center yesterday December 19th. There were two elderly people working the front desk; a gentleman with white hair, and an older lady with short brown hair. My bofriend was trying to renew his library card, and this was his third attempt. These two people looked at 4 diffrent forms of paperwork and IDs that he had. The first two times that he was there he was required to show 7 different forms of ID. Finally, they approved his passport at the other location by Kroger.
They stated that he just needed to pick up his library card at the Genealogy Center, because that was where he started the renewal. My boyfriend showed these two staff members his passport, social security card, the deed to his car, a check stub, an Indiana ID, and mail that had our address on it. My boyfriend and I only have so much time in our day, and we were at the Genealogy Center trying to print off papers that he needed to send in the mail asap. This task needed to be done yesterday. Due to this silly run around that these two elderly front desk people gave us and were also rude to us. The older man even told us at one point to go buy a printer. We actually have a printer, our new computer will not connect to our printer at the moment. Due to the public libary being under construction we have been trying to go to the genelogy center to use the printer. I guess my boyfriend is getting his library card mailed to the house? If somethings approves through the library association because he gave the front desk his hand gun permit as another form of Id. He did not get his library card yesterday December 19. Im so dissapointed with the front desk staff at the genelogy center. Just because my boyfriend and I are in our late 20s. They treated us as if they were above us. As if ny boyfriend and I had no business being in the Genealogy center. The funny thing is my family are farmers. My grandparents and my father own a bunch of farm land out in Butler. I pay my far share of property taxes, state, and local taxes. Im really dissapointed in the front desk service at the Genealogy center. They gave my boyfriend a 40 minute run around. Who has 40 minutes to spare anymore these days? This should of been a 5 minute issue with the library card. My boyfriend and I are at the library location by krogers. Great experience! Great friendly staff! Everyone is nice and friendly. If the staff members at the genelogy center have no clue how to interpret information of a personals address and a photo ID. They probably have no clue on finding anything to do with your family history. Be prepared to waste your whole day away at the genelogy center. Very unorganized, rude, and timemangement to horrible!!
